Old NOTD: China Glaze Rain Storm

China Glaze Rain Storm

Once in awhile, when I'm hauling from Victoria's Nail Supply, Transdesign, Head2ToeBeauty or 8ty8Beauty, I'll add in a couple of random polishes to "make the shipping worth it". (Self-delusion's a healthy thing, really.) This was one of those polishes. This is a dusty cornflower blue jelly speckled with blue and/or silver microglitter. I really like the appearance of this one -- it reminds me of a lighter OPI Glow-Ink in the Dark -- but like Glow-Ink, this was a pain and a half to apply. The above is five coats. It's very, very sheer. And the shrinkage? That happened immediately after I applied Diamont. And then it did not dry and got destroyed in the shower six hours later. VERY pretty... and absolutely too much trouble for me to bother with.

Dude, my nails had gotten long this winter before they got wrecked. Those were too long for me, IMO: typing was not comfortable with that length. But it's nice to know that I could grow 'em out again that long if I wanted to. I really like the length I'm at now (about half the amount of free edge in those photos) but gotta say, the long nails were more fun to paint. :)
